Other Merchants’ gift cards that are available through the order form on the other side include department stores, clothing and hardware stores, flowers, electronics, phone cards and even hotels. Buy gift cards to give away – birthdays, Bar & Bat Mitzvahs and Hanukah are great occasions.
Buy gift cards to use yourself – just like the grocery store gift cards that so many members already use. Going on a trip? Buy the cards for the hotel you are staying in. Getting that 42” HDTV screen? You could use gift cards to pay for it and help the merchant support B’nai Torah.
How this generates money for B’nai Torah
B’nai Torah is enrolled in ”The Great Lakes Scrip Center”. This organization purchases large amounts of gift cards and certificates from retailers at a discount. B’nai Torah buys the gift cards from Great Lakes at a discount and you purchase them at face value. The difference (often as much as 8-15%) is for the shul.
This is easy
This program can be a very big source of income for the synagogue. It is easy for you because you do not have to sell anything – just make your purchases with gift cards bought through this program. It also doesn’t cost you anything! Use the order form on the back, bring or send it with payment to the office. At least once per month the orders will be filled. You will receive an e-mail or phone call when your cards are in.
