About Our School
B’nai Torah Nursery School is a non-profit program operated by Congregation B’nai Torah. It is a non-sectarian school with a strong Judaic enrichment program.
Our school is fully licensed by the state of Connecticut, and has an excellent teaching staff.
In a cheerful, safe environment, children are given opportunities to participate in art, music, block building, role-playing, nature and cooking. There are indoor and outdoor physical activities.
Regularly scheduled movement and music enrichment classes enhance our school program.
Small class sizes provide an opportunity for individual attention as well as group interaction.
About Our Classes
The Two year old class meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 – 12:00 p.m.
The Three year old class meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Three year olds may also attend 4 or 5 days a week.
The Four year-old class meets Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
A Lunch Bunch option is available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 p.m. for children in the Three year-old class and Monday through Friday from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 p.m. for children in the Four year-old class. It is possible to add Lunch Bunch to our two year old class in some cases.
An Enrichment Program option is available Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 1:00 – 1:55 p.m. for the Three year-old class and Monday through Friday from 1:00 – 1:55 p.m. for the Four year-old class.
To be eligible for their respective programs, children must be two, three or four years old by December 31st.
Wonderful Ones: One year olds and their caregivers enjoy socializing in a teacher led weekly play group with friends which includes sensory, music, story time, art, and free play activities. Learn more here!
Goals of B’nai Torah Nursery School

- To provide for the emotional growth of each child; building self-confidence, a sense of worth, and encouraging decision-making.
- To provide for social growth, caring and sensitivity for others, and encourage cooperative play.
- To provide for intellectual growth with a wide variety of age-appropriate activities to satisfy the individual needs of each child. To encourage independence, motivation and an enthusiasm for learning, exploring and creating.
- To provide opportunities for physical growth; participate in fine and large motor activities indoors and outdoors.
